WVU returns to winning form, rolls over Baylor, 58-14

West Virginia University proved quickly Thursday night that there would be no dwelling on the loss to Iowa State.

In a game in Morgantown at Milan Puskar Stadium, the Mountaineers blasted the Baylor Bears, 58-14.

There was never any doubt in the contest as WVU jumped out to a 41-0 lead at halftime.

Mountaineers’ quarterback Will Grier completed 17 of 27 passes and three touchdowns for 353 total yards.

For WVU, receiver David Sills had two touchdown catches, and receiver Gary Jennings also had two scores – one from backup quarterback Jack Allison.

The 13th ranked Mountaineers improved to 6-1 and rolled up 568 total yards. Baylor dropped to 4-4.

Coach Dana Holgorsen’s squad proved it was not going to linger on the Oct. 13 disappointing 30-14 loss to Iowa State.

Next up for WVU – a Nov. 3 battle against Texas in Austin.
