The Road to Wheeling: Mingo-Tolsia Showdown

They met earlier in the season...week 2, in fact.

It turned out to be a wild, 44-41, contest with Tolsia prevailing over Mingo Central.

Now, they meet again.

This time with Wheeling Island Stadium and the Class AA state championship game as the prize.

Mingo Central is aiming for history, having never played in any kind of title game in the school's brief history.

Tolsia hasn't been back since losing to Wayne County rival Wayne in 2006 for the crown.

Tolsia, the No. 3 seed, gets to play at home thanks to Mingo Central, the No. 7 seed, topping No. 2 Bluefield last week.

The Friday night winner will get the winner of the Bridgeport-Fairmont Senior winner, also set for Friday night.
