Game 7: Bluefield advances in state tourney, defeats Poca

    Bluefield advanced to the semifinals of the West Virginia boys basketball tournament with a win over Poca.

    The Beavers downed the Dots 57-47 in the Class AA game Thursday at the West Virginia high school boys basketball tournament in Charleston.

    Bluefield was paced by Braden Crews’ 20 points. Kaulin Parris and Sean Martin each chipped in 10 points.

    Poca was led by Isaac McKneely, who scored 13 points. Bronson Skeens and Evan McKneely each scored 12.

    Bluefield will play in the semifinals at 11:15 a.m. Friday against the winner of the Fairmont Senior-Lewis County contest, scheduled for 1 p.m. Thursday.
