CDR Early Registration Deadline For 15-Miler Just Days Away

CHARLESTON, W.Va. - There is a need for speed if you want to take advantage of early registration savings in the 15-mile race at the Charleston Distance Run.

America's 15 Miler is now just 50 days away, and the early signup fee for the 15-mile race is $40 for those who register by Tuesday, July 21. The registration fee jumps to $50 after that for those who register by Aug. 12. Late registration also is available for those who miss the second deadline and sign up by 9 p.m. Sept. 4.

The 43rd edition of the capital city classic is scheduled to begin 7:30 a.m. Sept. 5 on Kanawha Boulevard across from the West Virginia Capitol.

Remember, you don't have to be an elite runner to participate in the CDR. All ability levels will compete in the 15-miler. The race also offers a three-person, 15-mile relay, 5K race and 5K and 10K walks.

The Distance Run has a scenic course in the 15-miler, starting on flat, downtown streets, continuing through a challenging hills section that features the grueling Capital Punishment Hill that takes runners up Corridor G (U.S. 119). Participants complete the last half of the race on flat, downtown streets before they cross the finish line at University of Charleston Stadium's Laidley Field.

WCHS-TV is a proud sponsor of the CDR. To find out more about the race, its history and to find the registration link, visit our special Distance Run website page here.
