Wingate hotel in South Charleston to convert to Fairfield Inn and Suites by Marriott
SOUTH CHARLESTON, WV (WCHS/WVAH) —
The Wingate by Wyndham Charleston will be converting to a Fairfield Inn and Suites by Marriott in late 2018.
Located at 402 Second Ave. SW in South Charleston, the hotel will begin its transformation to the Marriott brand in early 2018 and will include expanding to 95 rooms to include 10 suites, according to a news release.
As part of the project, the fitness center will be expanded, outdoor space and a Corner Market will be added and the hotel’s décor and new façade will have a modern, contemporary look. Hotel rooms will be upgraded, including new furniture and bathrooms. Meeting spaces and public areas will receive a modern, upgraded look.
The hotel was built in 1998 as a Wingate. It is part of the Monarch Family of Hotels, which also includes the Hampton Inn Southridge, Holiday Inn & Suites Charleston West and Charleston Conference Center.
