Off-duty deputy detains man accused of threatening customers at Elkview Kroger

U.S. marshals say Casey Larch was taken into custody Wednesday night after he was accused of going into the Elkview Kroger and telling customers to get on the floor.

A plainclothes Roane County deputy, who is a member of the U.S. Marshals Fugitive Task Force, detained a man threatening customers at the Kroger in Elkview.

Dispatchers said at about 8:30 p.m. a man walked into the Kroger and told everyone to get on the ground.

There were about 20 people in the store at the time, and dispatchers said many ran to the back of the store before a plainclothes deputy was able to detain the suspect.

U.S. marshals said Casey Larch was the suspect who was taken into custody. Larch was featured on Fugitive Files in June and was wanted for malicious wounding and entry without breaking.

Larch will face new charges after Wednesday's incident in Elkview.

Eyewitness News has a crew headed to the scene and will have more information when it is released.
