Traffic stop leads to felony drug arrest in Fayette County
HILLTOP, W.Va. (WCHS/WVAH) —
Two Fayette County men are facing felony charges following a traffic stop Friday night in the Hilltop area.
Matthew Dixon, 32, of Hilltop, and Jason Canaday, 34, of Hilltop, are charged with possession with the intent to deliver narcotics and possession of counterfeit currency, according to a news release from the Fayette County Sheriff’s Department.
At about 9 p.m. Friday night, deputies conducted a traffic stop on a Jeep Compass on Sanger Road and found $400 in counterfeit money, a gram of crystal methamphetamines, and several individually packaged unit of heroin in the vehicle. Deputies also found digital scales and a bag of white powder that has been sent to a lab for testing.
Dixon and Canaday are being held in the Southern Regional Jail.
