Shop local program being introduced by Charleston Main Streets
CHARLESTON, WV (WCHS/WVAH) —
Charleston Main Streets is launching a campaign that encourages consumers to shop, eat and receive services from more than 100 local businesses.
The economic and community development agency said in a news release that under the SpreeWV program, consumers who spend a specific money in the East End and West Side districts will have a chance at receiving a $50 VISA gift card.
Consumers will be encouraged and rewarded for shopping local and keeping their receipts. To qualify for a SpreeWV reward, consumers are asked to simply mail receipts from at least five different East End or West Side businesses totaling at least $300 to the Charleston Main Street offices.
Rewards are limited to the first 50 individuals who send in their qualifying receipts.
Element Federal Credit Union is the campaign sponsor.
