GRAYSON, Ky. (WCHS/WVAH) — All events at the Carter County, Ky. Fair have been canceled for Saturday as heavy rain continues to fall in Grayson area.
The Carter County Sheriff's Department said the fairgrounds have been evacuated after about 3 inches of rain has fallen since about 2 p.m. Saturday.
Officials said emergency crews are checking homes and apartments in areas around creeks that are prone to flooding, but at this time there have been no other evacuations or rescues.
Carter County is under a flash flood warning until 6:15 p.m.
This is not the first time inclement weather has caused problems at the fairgrounds in Grayson.
