River Rats win 69th annual Dunbar Commode Bowl
The 69th annual Commode Parade and Commode Bowl was held in Dunbar Thursday afternoon.
The Commode Bowl is a Dunbar Thanksgiving tradition that pits the River Rats against the Hillside Rams. The game dates back to 1948 when high school players from both sides of the train tracks squared off.
Players now must be 18-year-old to play.
The annual parade got things underway, and then it was time to head to the football field.
The annual event is not only fun for the community but benefits the Dunbar Food Bank as well.
The River Rats won the Commode Bowl 26-0.
Eyewitness News reporter Bob Aaron served as the grand marshal for the parade.
