Two dead after crash involving DOH mower on I-77
Two people were killed Thursday morning after a car and a West Virginia Division of Highways mower crashed on Interstate 77, the Jackson County Sheriff’s Office said.
A DOH employee has been transported to Charleston Area Medical Center General Hospital and is alert but suffered a serious head injury, Carrie Jones, spokeswoman for the state Department of Transportation, said. Two people were found dead in the car, which caught fire.
The crash occurred near the 127 mile marker in the northbound lanes of the interstate. The northbound lanes were closed, but they reopened about 3:30 p.m.
