Ohio woman charged with murder in death of Mason County man
SOUTHSIDE, W.Va. (WCHS/WVAH) —
An Ohio woman accused of hitting a pedestrian with a vehicle has been charged with murder.
Bunky S. Cline, 54, of Gallipolis, is charged with first-degree murder in the death of Carl F. Hooton, 56, of Southside, W.Va., according to a news release from the Mason County Sheriff's Department.
Sometime between late Thursday night and early Friday morning, deputies responded to the area of Chief Cornstalk Pond in Southside and found Hooton dead from what appeared to be injuries sustained from a motor vehicle, the release said.
During the investigation, the release said Cline was arrested.
She is currently being held in the Western Regional Jail without bond.
