KANAWHA COUNTY, W.Va. (WCHS/WVAH) — A Chapmanville man accused of taking his grandfather’s truck and credit cards and then using them to run away with a 15-year-old girl has been taken into custody.
Dylan Bledsoe, 18, was in custody Thursday in Kanawha County and was being video arraigned from South Central Regional Jail.
The Logan County Sheriff’s Office had issued warrants on kidnapping and grand larceny charges for Bledsoe, 18, after responding to a call Tuesday morning that Bledsoe had stolen his grandfather’s Ford Escape and credit cards, according to a news release.
Bledsoe’s grandfather told deputies that he had last seen him about midnight Tuesday and had woken up to find Bledsoe had cut off his home confinement bracelet and left.
The news release said deputies also discovered that a 15-year-old juvenile female had left with Bledsoe without her guardian's consent. Her guardian also told deputies that she was last seen around the same time as Bledsoe.
Deputies believe Bledsoe and the 15-year-old female juvenile were believed to have been headed to Virginia or possibly North Carolina.
