CHARLESTON, W.Va. (WCHS/WVAH) — One student from Huntington High and South Charleston High School have been selected as this week’s Todd Judy Ford Scholar Athletes of the Week.
Bryce Damous was selected as the Todd Judy Ford Scholar Athlete of the Week for Huntington High School.
Damous is a senior at Huntington and plays football and basketball for the Highlanders.
He hopes to continue his athletic career at the collegiate level and hopes to go into business.
Damous said in the future is wants to stay in sports by coaching or volunteering with a team.
Kylie Richo was selected as the Todd Judy Ford Scholar Athlete of the Week for South Charleston High School.
Richo is a captain for the Black Eagles’ soccer team.
The senior has a 4.25 GPA and also works at a part-time job.
After high school, Richo hopes to become a neurologist. At this time, she has not decided where she will go to college, but she is looking into attending West Virginia University.
Damous and Richo are now finalists to win the Todd Judy Ford Scholar Athlete of the Year. At the end of the football season, one of our Todd Judy Ford Scholar Athlete of the Year will be selected as the Todd Judy Ford Scholar Athlete of the Year and will be awarded with a $5,000 scholarship to a school of his or her choice.
