Two people killed in crash involving ambulance in Boone County

Boone County dispatchers said two people were killed in a three-vehicle crash involving a Whitesville ambulance.

Boone County first responders said a car lost control and crossed the center line on Lens Creek Road and struck another car head on and then collided with the ambulance Thursday afternoon with another vehicle on Lens Creek Road.

Dispatchers said both people who were killed were in the same passenger vehicle. One other person was taken to the hospital.

There were two paramedics and an patient in the ambulance at the time of the crash. None of them were injured.

Deputies are continuing to investigate the cause of the crash, but said weather could have been a factor.
