Charleston police look for person who robbed a gas station at gunpoint

Charleston police are trying to identify a man who robbed the 7-Eleven in Kanawha City at gunpoint.

The holdup occurred about 3:40 a.m. Tuesday at the convenience store, located in the 3800 block of MacCorkle Avenue, according to a news release from the Charleston Police Department.

Police said a white male entered the 7-Eleven, pointed a handgun at the clerk to get money. After the robbery, the man ran from the store, heading east.

The suspect is described as a young white male with blue eyes. He was wearing a black hooded sweatshirt and black ski mask.

Anyone with information about the incident or the identity of the robber is asked to call the Charleston Police Department at 304-348-8111.
