The swine flu vaccine is now available to all Maryland residents, according to the Maryland Department of Health and Mental Hygiene.



The vaccine availability comes as the department says flu activity is declining from a peak in October.



Vaccinations are available from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Wednesday at the Maryland State Fairgrounds in Timonium and Friday at the Enoch Pratt Free Library in downtown Baltimore.



Until now, the vaccine was mostly limited to at risk groups, such as pregnant women and small children.



While those groups still remain a priority, Gov. Martin O'Malley said he believes protecting everyone is key to preventing another outbreak.



"Getting more vaccine into the general population may help Maryland avoid a third wave of H1N1 (Swine) flu activity."
