Hi, everyone. I always find it weird to write "bios," but here we go.
I was born and raised in West Virginia, grew up in St. Albans and went to St. Albans High School. I played soccer and lacrosse in high school, and was a member of the state champion St. Albans Classix Show Choir.
After graduating high school in 2008, I moved north on Interstate 79 to Morgantown to go to West Virginia University. Words can't describe how much I love the 'ole Gold and Blue. When I began college, I wasn't sure what I wanted to do. After sitting through a few chemistry classes, I decided science wasn't it, so I picked journalism. After that everything sort of fell into place, and I graduated from WVU in 2012.
Two days after graduating, I moved to Williston, N.D., to start my first job in local news at KUMV. Williston is 70 miles south of Canada, and is quite the little town. There is an oil boom going on in North Dakota. While I was there, it became the country's second biggest oil producing state. It gets really cold up there, the coldest I ever saw it was 53 degrees below zero, so you will not hear me complain much about cold weather.
I'm so happy to be back home in West Virginia working for the news station I grew up watching. When I'm not working, I like to do things outside - running, hiking, camping, or anything that gets me out of the house. I love TV and Netflix, however. Some of my favorite shows are "The Office," "How I Met Your Mother," "Home Improvement" and "Desperate Housewives."
