West Virginia Power opens 2018 season April 5

The West Virginia Power will open its 2018 season in just over a week.

The Power will host the Greenville Drive on Thursday, April 5, to start the 2018 season. The season opener also falls on Thirsty Thursday, when the Power offers $1 12-ounce beverages and $2 16-ounce cans. College students who present a valid student ID will also get $2 off their ticket. Thirsty Thursday will be held for every home game on Thursday nights throughout the season.

The first 1,000 fans who go through the gates on opening night will receive a personal 2018 magnet schedule. Fans will also want to stick around after the game for fireworks.

The Power will play six straight home games to start the season, including an opening three-game series with the Drive that wraps up on April 8 and then a three-game series with the Lakewood BlueClaws that begins on April 9 and wraps up April 10.

The Power will then hit the road for seven straight games before returning home on April 18.

Throughout the 2018 season, Monday's will be Family Buck Night at Appalachian Power Park. On Mondays, box seats are $3 and general admission tickets are $1. Hot dogs, popcorn, and 12-ounce Pepsi products are also just $1.

Each Tuesday night throughout the season will be Two for Tuesdays. Fans can enjoy two-for-one 16-ounce beer cans and other special concessions stand items.

On April 7, The Power will celebrate BrewFest CharlieWest. The first 1,000 fans over 21 years of age will receive a West Virginia Power pint glass and access to a beer festival featuring live music by Of the Dell.

For $30, fans get a ticket to the Power's game and five craft beer vouchers for the festival.

On May 26, the Power will host Legends of Wrestling Night with Jim Ross.

The first 1,000 fans through the gates will receive a sports duffel bag. For $50, fans will receive a $50 VIP package that includes admission to the Power's game against the Kannapolis Intimidators, a coupon for a hot dog, soda and a bag of chips, and access to a private meet-and-greet, autograph, and photo session with Jim Ross.
