St. Albans downs Nitro in Wendy's Friday Night Rivals game of the week

Nitro and St. Albans squared off in the Battle of the Bridge in our first Wendy's Friday Night Rivals game of the week.

The Red Dragons won 38-0. St. Albans was led by Jayson Barrett, who was named the FiveStar Chevy Dealers Player of the Game. His performance included an interception he returned 95 yards for a touchdown.

The Wildcats (1-1) were unable to get back-to-back victories. They started off the season in winning fashion with a 32-13 win over the Poca Dots (0-1).

Nitro is led by third year head coach Bryce Casto who, is looking to build off back-to-back 1-9 seasons.

The St. Albans Red Dragons victory got the squad back on the right track. They were able to avoid consecutive losses after dropping their season opener 49-10 to Parkersburg.

St. Albans is led by second year head coach Tinsley and freshman Robert Alexander, Jr. who is the son of former South Charleston and WVU star Robert Alexander.

In the 2016 Battle of the Bridge, St. Albans knocked off the Wildcats 44-32 in the final game of the season.
