Game 3: Ravenswood cruises by Huntington St. Joe to Class A semis

Ravenswood High School booked a Class A semifinals appearance Wednesday afternoon with a 62-41 win against Huntington St. Joe at the Charleston Civic Center.

The No. 2 Red Devils took a 36-24 lead into the half against the No. 7 seed Irish, scoring 18 points in each of the first two quarters. Each team scored the same amount of points in each of the first three quarters, with Ravenswood scoring 18 in each period and the Irish scoring 12 in each period.

The Red Devils had a highly efficient day shooting, going 73 percent (27-37) from the floor. St Joe was held to 38 percent shooting. Forty four Ravenswood points came in the paint, compared to just 16 by the Irish.

Riley Heatherington led the way for Ravenswood with 30 points, seven rebounds, four assists, four blocks and two steals. Isaiah Morgan and Stephen Dawson each chipped in 10 points and Dawson grabbed 14 rebounds.

DeAundra Murphy led the way for the Irish, with 13 points. Garrick Hopkins also reached double figures, with 10 points.

Ravenswood will face No. 3 seed Fayetteville at 9:30 a.m. Friday.
