A South Charleston woman is accused of hitting her husband with a vehicle after arguing about a dog.

Laura R. White, 40, was arrested Monday by the South Charleston Police Department and charged with malicious battery, domestic battery and driving under the influence, according to a criminal complaint filed in Kanawha County Magistrate Court.

Police said that White and her husband, David White, had been arguing about a dog. During that argument, Laura White said she went to get the dog and didn’t know how she “bumped” her husband with her Buick, the complaint said.

Police said when they got to the scene, David White was on the ground with tire tracks around him and he was complaining he couldn't move his legs.

Laura White admitted to police that she had been drinking alcohol, the complaint said.

David White was taken to Charleston Area Medical Center. His condition was unavailable.
