Pit bull quarantined after biting 7-year-old boy in Lawrence County, Ohio
IRONTON, OHIO (WCHS/WVAH) —
A pit bull labeled dangerous by animal control has been quarantined at the Lawrence County, Ohio Animal shelter.
An animal control officer said the dog bit a 7-year-old boy.
That boy is still in the hospital being treated for his injuries.
Ironton dog catcher Melissa Nicely said she responded to the call Monday afternoon, but the dog had already been taken by her owner.
She said that owner gave the dog away to friends, who then turned the dog into her Wednesday.
The pit bull named Monster is now being held in quarantine for 10 days and might be put to sleep.
"It's going to be up to him too as to how he acts with us,” Nicely said.
Right now, there's no word on the boy's injuries or his condition or if anyone will face charges for the attack.
