Former West Virginia governor Earl Ray Tomblin has a spot back in the governor’s office – in the form of a portrait.

At a ceremony Friday at the state Capitol, Tomblin's official portrait was unveiled. The portrait will hang in the Governor’s Reception Room, following the state’s tradition of featuring the portraits of the previous two governors there, according to a news release from the West Virginia Culture Center.

The portrait of former governor Bob Wise will be moved to the Hall of Governors in the state Capitol.

Tomblin attended the ceremony along with his wife, Joanne Tomblin.

Naijun Zhang, associate professor of paining at West Virginia University, painted the portrait of Tomblin.

Following the ceremony, a reception was held in the Great Hall of the Culture Center.
