New trial date set for Kanawha County man with long string of crimes
CHARLESTON, W.Va. (WCHS/WVAH) —
The trial for a Kanawha County man with a long string of crimes has been pushed back.
Grant Crul was in Kanawha County court this morning.
Crul is charged with malicious assault on a police officer after officials say he fought and bit a deputy.
Winfield police say Crul also went into a convenience store and threatened to kill workers at a nearby day report center.
In another incident, Crul led police on a foot chase during a traffic stop.
Crul requested a different lawyer and now a public defender has been appointed.
The new trial date is set for Aug. 13, 2018.
