Marshall football player shot during New Year's Eve party dies
BALTIMORE, Md. (WCHS/WVAH) —
A Marshall University football player who was shot during a New Year's Eve party has died.
Lawrence "Larry" Aaron, III, 19, of Columbia, Md., died Thursday. Aaron was a freshman defensive tackle on the team. Aaron was shot in the back during a New Year's Eve party in Maryland.
Thundering Herd Coach Doc Holliday offered his support and condolences to the family.
"Marshall University lost a very special young man today and it has shocked and saddened us all," Holliday said on his Twitter page. "Our thoughts and prayers are with all of Larry Aaron's family and friends, many of who where his fellow Thundering Herd teammates. His loss will be felt in every corner of our program and his spirit will never be forgotten."
