Man wanted on burglary, assault, kidnapping charges
MALLORY, WV (WCHS/WVAH) —
The Logan County Sheriff's Office is searching for a man who is accused of breaking into a home, assaulting a man and holding a woman hostage in his car.
Robert Scott Earnest, 28, of Mallory WV, is accused of committing nighttime burglary, assault during the commission of a felony and kidnapping Friday, according to Logan County deputies.
According to a press release from the Logan County Sheriff's Office, a call came in at 9:30 p.m. with a kidnapping and assault complaint. Officers found Earnest had broken into Breanna Barrett's Kistler home. Barrett is Earnest's ex-girlfriend. While inside, Earnest hit Dennis Osbourne in the face with a handgun and assaulted Barrett. He then forced her to leave her home at gunpoint.
Earnest brought Barrett to his car and drove around with her for an hour and a half until he released her.
Earnest is described as being a white male, about 6 feet tall and weighing 185 pounds. He has brown hair and brown eyes and may be traveling with Christopher Charles Daniels in a silver Ford Escape. Earnest is known to be armed.
The incident is still under investigation. The Logan County Sheriff's department urges people with information concerning the crime to contact them at 304-792-8590.
