Ohio Attorney General Mike DeWine said a Gallia County man has pleaded guilty to sexually assaulting seven children at an in-home day care, and the attorney general believes there could be more victims.

Matthew Case, 43, of Rio Grande was charged with 10 counts of rape and six counts of gross sexual imposition, according to a news release from the attorney general.

The attorney general and Gallia County Prosecutor Jason Holden made the announcement that Case pleaded guilty on Thursday.

DeWine said the in-home day care was operated by Case's wife and the victims are females between the ages of 3 to 7. DeWine said two victims came forward about the abuse in April, and five more victims were identified.

DeWine said the assaults occurred at the Case's home between May 2016 and April 2017. At the time of his arrest, Case was a volunteer firefighter.

Authorities with the Attorney General's Bureau of Criminal Investigation Crimes Against Children Unit, Gallia County Sheriff's Office, and FBI Columbus Child Exploitation Task Force were involved in the investigation.

Anyone who suspects their child has been victimized is encouraged to call the Gallia County Prosecutor's Office at 740-446-0018, the Ohio Bureau of Criminal Investigation at 855-BCI-OHIO or the Gallia County Sheriff's Office at 740-446-1221.

Case will be sentenced May 25 in Gallia County Common Pleas Court.
