No room for kids to be bored Thursday in Cross Lanes.

They got to check out some exotic animals such as a kangaroo, wallaby, giant porcupine, giant turtle, miniature cow, silky chickens and goats.

Pursley’s Exotic Encounters Petting Zoo was at the YMCA Summer Camp at the Cross Lanes YMCA Child Development Center on Rocky Fork Road.

The display of the animals was part of the YMCA’s Animal Planet week at the camp.

YMCA officials said in a new release that 225 campers had the opportunity to see the animals.
