Some key dates are coming up for West Virginia residents in the Oct. 7 bond referendum election.

Kanawha County commissioners in a news release said the last day to register to vote is Monday, Sept. 18. Early voting begins Friday, Sept. 22, and ends Wednesday, Oct. 4.

Free parking for early voting is available on the Quarrier Street in front of the Voter’s Registration Office. Early voting is available 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. each weekday and 9a.m. to 5 p.m. on each Saturday.

Gov. Jim Justice has touted the $1.6 million bond referendum as a way to pump new life into the state's economy and create up to 48,000 new construction jobs. The governor talked about the election during a recent visit to Huntington.
