BOONE COUNTY, WV (WCHS/WVAH) —
Boone County deputies said a man is accused of several counts of sexually assaulting girls and boys, and evidence indicates there could be more victims.
Donald Maxwell Steele Jr. 37, of Coopertown was arrested Thursday and charged with three counts of first-degree sexual assault, according to a news release from the Boone County Sheriff’s Office.
The male and female victims range in age from 5 to 8 years old, deputies said. The news release said the case dates back to about 2008 with abuse continuing through the spring of this year.
Anyone who has information about more potential victims is asked to contact the sheriff’s office at 304-369-0587.
Steele is currently being held at Southwestern Regional Jail on a $150,000 cash only bond. If he is convicted on the current charges, each count carries a maximum penalty of 15 to 35 years in prison.
