For two decades, the Contemporary Youth Arts Company has been re-telling its version of the Virgin Mary story.

A young girl who has never been with a man finds herself pregnant. She deals with uncertainty, confusion, disappointment and anger from many of those around her.

"It's crazy and it's amazing that I have this opportunity to play a role like this," Devin Elliott (Mary) said. "Especially since this is the 20th anniversary and so many people have played this before me. Just to get the chance to do this role is so amazing."

This version of "Mary: The Rock Opera" features a cast member who originated the role of Gabriel 20 years ago.

"We change the show to adapt to the strengths of every cast," Dan Kehde (Writer/Director) said. "Every cast is different so we try to take advantage of everything that the kids are able to bring."

Opening in its traditional spot on the day after thanksgiving, the production is part of many people's holiday schedule.

"I've actually played Joseph three times before this" Jonathan Tucker (Joseph) said. "This is my fifth time being in 'Mary.' It's different every time but this cast is really something special and spectacular and you wouldn't want to miss it this year."
